There is quite a limited amount of research conducted into the antioxidant content of this fruit so claims on its so-called health food benefits need to be further confirmed by more tests.
However, it is worthwhile to note that the native Mapuche Indians of this area in South America have been using maqui berry for a long time. It is said that they used the berry to naturally enhance strength, strengthen the immune system, and boost stamina.
